About Underkover Australia

Underkover Australia started the same way most good ideas do, out of frustration.

We were sick of buying covers and gear that looked the part but didn’t last. Zips failing. Stitching giving up. Materials that couldn’t handle normal use, let alone Australian conditions. So instead of complaining about it, we decided to make something better.

We’re campers. We’re boaties. We own 4WDs. We travel. We fish (some days more successfully than others). This isn’t a marketing angle; it’s just our life. We build products we actually use ourselves.

Underkover began in Ben’s garage in 2019. Two mates, a sewing machine (yes, Scott genuinely has a Year 7 sewing licence and his mum was very proud), and a clear goal, make tough, practical gear that holds up and do it better than anything else on the market.

What started small has grown into a fantastic manufacturing facility in Hervey Bay, QLD, with a solid team behind us. But the way we do things hasn’t changed.

We design and manufacture our products right here in Australia. We use Australian-made canvas, webbing and binding wherever we can. And when it comes to our zips, we use YKK because they’re widely known as the best in the business. No shortcuts! If it doesn’t meet our standard, we simply don’t use it.

Every design is created with a purpose, but we know no two setups are the same. Your rig is different to ours. Your boat, your van, your camp kitchen, all different. We build our products to be tough and practical, and what you do with them from there is up to you. We are constantly expanding and improving our range to suit our customers’ needs.

We don’t rush products to market. If it hasn’t been tested properly, it doesn’t get released. Simple as that.

We’re based in Hervey Bay, gateway to Fraser Island, and the outdoors is a big part of why this brand exists. Underkover is built around gear that works in real conditions, not showroom conditions.

We’re not here to overcomplicate it. We just make quality gear that lasts.
